Ayurveda Treament for Swine Flu

In Ayurveda, health ailments like swine flu are because of weakened immunity that the body cannot withstand against the attack of disease causing germs. Ayurveda, as always, believes in strengthening the body systems that fight and win the battle against H1N1 Virus. This is done by prescribing various digestive fire strengthening herbs such as Guduchi (licorice), Tulasi (Holy Basil), Sahadevi, Neem (Indian Margosa Tree), Shunthi (ginger), Pippali (pepper) etc. Once the digestive fire is corrected, medicines such as Triphala, Rasna, Eranda, Guggulu can be prescribed to relieve the symptoms.

Swine flu is spreading like wildfire across the world, Ayurveda has the remedy in the form of the miraculous herb, the basil leaves commonly known as Tulsi.

Tulsi in particular is a very good herb because it has both anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. It can boost one’s immunity and also rejuvenate after a bout of illness. Therefore, although you can’t call it a cure, it can sure help fight H1N1 virus.

A paste or juice made out of about 20 tulsi leaves, if had daily, will help one strengthen the immunity level and fight viruses like H1N1.

Tulsi can control swine flu and it should be taken in fresh form. Juice or paste of at least 20-25 medium sized leaves should be consumed twice a day on an empty stomach.

Apart from acting as a preventive medicine in case of swine flu, Tulsi can help the patient recover faster.

Three varieties of Tulsi leaves - Krishna (Ocimum sanctum), Vana (Ocimum gratissimum) and Katuki (Picrorriza kurroa) improve cell mediated immunity. These are anti-viral agents and improve body's resistance against various diseases including swine flu

Symptoms of swine flu

Symptoms of swine flu

It is important that as swine flu spreads, you know the symptoms of the disease so you can recognise it in yourself and others at an early stage.

Please read this page and consider your symptoms carefully before using the National Pandemic Flu Service mentioned below.

So far, most swine flu cases have been mild, with symptoms similar to those of seasonal flu. Only a small number of people have had more serious symptoms.

If you or a member of your family has any of the following symptoms and a temperature of 38°C or above, you may have swine flu.

The typical symptoms are:

* a sudden fever (a high body temperature of 38°C/100.4°F or above), and
* a sudden cough.

Other symptoms may include:

* headache,
* tiredness,
* chills,
* aching muscles,
* limb or joint pain,
* diarrhoea or stomach upset,
* sore throat,
* runny nose,
* sneezing, or
* loss of appetite.

Swine Flu High Risk Groups

With regular seasonal flu, infants and the elderly are usually thought to be most at risk for serious infections, in addition to people with chronic medical problems. Swine flu high risk groups, people who are thought to be at risk for serious, life-threatening infections, are a little different and can include:

* pregnant women
* people with chronic medical problems, such as chronic lung disease, like asthma, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and immunosuppression
* children and adults with obesity

Serious Swine Flu Symptoms

More serious symptoms that would indicate that a child with swine flu would need urgent medical attention include:

* Fast breathing or trouble breathing
* Bluish or gray skin color
* Not drinking enough fluids
* Severe or persistent vomiting
* Not waking up or not interacting
* Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
* Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

Swine Flu Symptoms vs. a Cold or Sinus Infection

It is important to keep in mind most children with a runny nose or cough will not have swine flu and will not have to see their pediatrician for swine flu testing.

This time of year, many other childhood conditions are common, including:

* spring allergies - runny nose, congestion, and cough
* common cold - runny nose, cough, and low grade fever
* sinus infections - lingering runny nose, cough, and fever
* strep throat - sore throat, fever, and a positive strep test

Checking symptoms

It makes sense to have a working thermometer at home, as an increase in temperature is one of the main symptoms. If you are unsure how to use a thermometer, go to How to take someone's temperature.

If you are still concerned you may have swine flu, stay at home and check your symptoms using the online National Pandemic Flu Service.

Mohanlal and Priyadarshan making IPL team from Kerala for IPL 2010

Priyadarshan (Master director in Malayalam and Hindi) is planning to start a cricket team from Kerala for the next IPL season in 2010, with childhood friend and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.

IPL is set to add four more teams after two years and now Kerala can hope to be one among them. The growth of the game and realisation of our IPL dream would depend a lot on the support of the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), especially in providing state-of-the-art facilities,” he said on the sidelines of an interaction with players of ‘City Cricketers’, a leading club here that he has taken over as president. Dr Shashi Tharoor, the new Union Minister of State for External Affairs accepted chairmanship of the club a fortnight ago, while Malayalam superhero Mohanlal is patron of the club, adding to the filmy touch.

Both Priyadarshan and Mohanlal love cricket and are truly raring to have a team for Kerala.

Mohanlal revealed that as a youngster, he used to spend a lot of time watching cricket matches and was a player at school.

Mohanlal may soon approach the Kerala Cricket Association to know about the formalities and may also seek the help of Sashi Tharoor, MP from Thiruvananthapuram.

Two NRIs and a few corporates are willing to fund the project which will cost around Rs 250 crore.

“The KCA (Kerala Cricket Association) will approach the BCCI with our proposal, and if all goes well, we will start our IPL innings next year,” says Priyadarsan.

It may be also associated with burning, stiffness, numbness or tingling with the pain shooting down the buttocks and the legs. Here we are describing the various ayurveda treatment for back pain.

Treatment in Ayurveda is to bring the vitiated 'dosha' back to the state of equilibrium and thereby to the state of health. For treating low back pain, internal as well as external treatments are done. Herbal preparations like 'Asthavargam' are administered internally. Daily purgation is recommended to restore the vitiated 'dosha' to the state of normalcy.

Yoga and Yogasana: The source of the pain is due most often to pushing oneself beyond physical or emotional capacity. The spine needs stability and, therefore, the mind must first be steady. So, the first step is to learn to relax the mind and focus on the specific areas of back pain. With practice, you can redirect the body's energy and affect the pain.
Among the Yogasanas ,when there is pain, start with simple back-bends, such as Locust, Cat, and Sunbird. To keep the spine aligned practice Hero Pose.

Ayurveda Treatment Comprises of three approaches, Elimination (Shodhanam), of the accumulated toxic products of digestion, metabolism and the disease process, Pacification (Shamanam) and correction of the entities responsible for altered functioning and Rejuvenation (Rasayanam) of the bodily tissue to regain and maintain natural strength and vitality.

Default constraint for Table column

Here it shows how to check a default constraint of column of a table and add a default constraint for that column

The syntax is given below.

Use
-----------
if exists(SELECT * FROM sysobjects WHERE xtype = 'D' AND name = '')
begin
alter table
drop constraint
end
alter table
add constraint default for

Example:

Here set the default value of JoinDate of employee table to current date as getdate(). So the defualt value joindate will be always the current date time.

/*
DB name:Department
Table Name:Employee
Column Name:JoinDate
constraint Name: DF_Employee_JoinDate
*/

Use Department
-----------
if exists(SELECT * FROM sysobjects WHERE xtype = 'D' AND name = 'DF_Employee_JoinDate')
begin
alter table dbo.Employee
drop constraint DF_Employee_JoinDate
end
alter table dbo.Employee
add constraint DF_Employee_JoinDate default getdate() for JoinDate
